SKYSCULPTURE
DRONE HEADQUARTERS
SkySculpture uses the term NEOMONUMENTALITY to interpret the future of monumentality through engaging visitors via education, movement, and interaction with technology. By stepping away from the idea that a monumentis just an object people perceive in space, objectification becomes obsolete.SkySculpture challenges this idea by interpreting the object as the space people exist within. It steams from an idea that architecture and monumentality are not the walls, floors, and ceilings we place in an environment, but are instead the spaces these things enclose. The challenge then becomes adhering to this idea without it being overlooked.Functioning as a drone IT office and drone racing entertainment center, the space of SkySculpture engages visitors via interaction with technology, specifically drone technology. The hyper activities, sensory and sceneries of workers, visitors and drones in the space, as well as the architecture itself, become the neomonument we challenged in San Francisco.
